Privacy policy
Last updated: 17/06/2026
Vajawat Computers ("we," "us," "our") runs vajawatcomputers.com, an online store for PC components, custom builds, and related accessories, based out of Chennai. This policy explains what information we collect when you browse the site, place an order, or get in touch with us, why we collect it, and what choices you have.
By using the site or placing an order with us, you're agreeing to the practices described here. If something in this policy doesn't sit right with you, reach out to us before you shop, we're happy to explain anything in plain terms.
What we collect
When you buy from us, build a PC with our team, or just sign up for updates, we typically collect:
Your name, phone number, email, and delivery address, since we need these to process orders and ship components to you. For custom builds, we may also ask what you plan to use the system for (gaming, editing, research, trading) so our team can recommend the right parts, that's part of the "Expert Guidance" service we offer.
Payment details, handled through our payment gateway and Shopify's checkout, we don't store your card or UPI details ourselves. For Cash on Delivery orders, we keep a record of the order value and delivery confirmation.
GST details, if you're ordering as a business and need a GST invoice, we'll ask for your company name and GSTIN so the invoice is correctly issued.
Warranty and RMA information. If you register a product for warranty or raise a return/DOA claim, we collect the product serial number, purchase proof, and a description of the issue. Some of this gets passed on to the brand (Intel, AMD, ASUS, MSI, and our other partners) since they're the ones honoring the manufacturer warranty, not us.
Browsing and device information, like your IP address, browser type, and how you move through the site. This comes largely from cookies and analytics tools, and helps us understand what's popular and fix things that aren't working.
Communications, if you message us on WhatsApp, email, Instagram, or call the shop, we keep a record of that conversation so our team has context if you follow up later.
Why we use it
We use your information to fulfil orders, ship products, issue invoices, process returns and warranty claims, and give you order updates. We use it to run our loyalty and newsletter signups, including the 10% first-order discount, if you sign up for that. We use browsing data to improve the site and to show you relevant products or offers. And we use your details to prevent fraud, particularly on high-value COD orders, and to meet our obligations under Indian tax and consumer protection law.
We don't sell your personal information to data brokers or third parties for their own marketing. Any sharing we do is limited to what's needed to run the business, described below.
Who we share it with
Shopify, since our store runs on their platform and they process the technical side of hosting, checkout, and payments.
Our payment gateway and logistics partners, so they can process payments and get your order to your door.
Brand partners like Intel, AMD, ASUS, MSI, Corsair, and others, when a warranty claim needs to go through the manufacturer rather than us directly.
Government or tax authorities, where required for GST compliance or if we're legally compelled to share information (a court order, for instance).
We don't hand over your data to anyone outside these categories without telling you first.
Cookies
The site uses cookies to keep your cart working, remember your login, and understand site traffic. You can turn off cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the site, like checkout, may not work properly without them.
How long we keep your information
We keep order and invoice records for as long as Indian tax law requires, generally several years, since GST invoices need to be retrievable. Account information stays as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account or data and there's no legal reason for us to hold onto it, we will.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that's wrong or outdated, ask us to delete your data (subject to our invoicing and warranty record-keeping obligations), and withdraw consent for things like marketing emails at any time.
To use any of these rights, email us or call the number below. We'll respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first, just to make sure we're not handing your data to the wrong person.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled a request, you can raise it with our team directly, and if it's still not resolved, you have the option to approach the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
This site isn't meant for children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you're a parent and think your child has given us information, contact us and we'll remove it.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no online system is completely risk-free. If you ever notice anything suspicious with your account, let us know right away.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally, whether that's because our practices change or the law does. We'll update the date at the top when we do. If you keep using the site after a change, that means you're okay with the update.
